2023 Kia Soul Starts Just Under $20,000

A 2023 Kia Soul sits parked in front of a bright yellow concrete wall dorectate with a cactus. The Soul is light blue with a black roof. We see it in profile, facing our right.A brand-new Soul will cost you a little over $20,000 next year, once you include the cost of shipping it.

Kia has announced pricing for the 2023 edition of its quirky little hatchbacky crossover-like thing. SUV? We do this for a living, and even we’re never quite sure how to categorize the Soul.

The Soul lineup is shrinking for 2023. Kia has dropped the turbocharged engine from the lineup, leaving a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder as the only available powerplant. Since Kia dropped a manual option last year, a continuously variable transmission is the only one offered.

The Soul does get a makeover, though. Reshaped headlights and a new front bumper update the look — it seems to be almost grimacing now. Perhaps it’s salty about losing its turbo. The liftgate has also been reshaped with a bit of a convex look.

The Soul will come in base LX and mid-level S, moderately equipped EX, sportier (looking) GT-Line, and top-of-the-line GT-Line Tech trims for 2023. All but the base model get a new 10.25-inch center touchscreen for the new year.

Pricing:

Price increases are modest, with most trims getting just a $500 bump to account for inflation and the new screen.

Kia also charges a mandatory $1,295 delivery fee on your clean new spirit.

Trim Level MSRP
Soul LX $19,790
Soul S $22,290
Soul GT-Line $23,390
Soul EX $24,090
