Final Nissan Maxima Gets Small Price Increase

The 2023 Nissan Maxima from a front quarter angle

  • The Nissan Maxima starts at $38,140 for 2023, plus a $1,095 delivery fee.
  • A well-reviewed big, sporty, gas-powered sedan, the Maxima is in its last production year.

The 4-door sports car is on its last legs (wheels?), with the Nissan Maxima scheduled to disappear after the 2023 model year. For its last year on the market, the Maxima will get a modest price increase. Little else changes for Nissan’s largest sedan.

The full list of changes? We’ll just quote a Nissan press release: “For 2023, all Maxima grades adopt Nissan’s new brand logo inside and out, and Maxima Platinum adds semi-aniline leather seating surfaces and illuminated kick plates.”

That’s it.

In keeping with the modest changes, the Maxima gets a modestly higher sticker price. Entry-level SV and sportier SR trims go up by just $300. The top-of-the-line Platinum gets a heftier $1,100 increase, presumably to cover the cost of the leather and those fancy illuminated kick plates you won’t want to kick.

The Maxima is a favorite of car critics, with unusually spirited performance for a functional family car and some of the most comfortable seats in the business. But big gas-powered sedans are an endangered species in the early days of electric vehicles. Hence, Nissan’s plan to end the Maxima line (though we wouldn’t be surprised to see the name return on an electric car).

2023 Nissan Maxima Pricing:

Nissan also charges a $1,095 delivery fee on all Maximas — quickly becoming one of the lowest delivery fees in the business as rivals raise theirs and Nissan holds steady.

Trim MSRP
Maxima SV $38,140
Maxima SR $43,300
Maxima Platinum $44,250
